This article demonstrates the need for greater security beyond WEP or WPA.   There are known vulnerabilities for the older WEP and the newer WPA.  While VPN’s add a extra layer of security that standard wireless does not provide.

Our OpenVPN VPN renegotiates the data channel every hour.  This constant renegotiation of the data channel results in a greater level of security.

This article is about ISP’s requesting permission from congress to allow DPI or Deep Packet Inspection. This DPI process is where ISP’s look inside each of your packets with specialized equipment.  ISP’s want to implement DPI for various reasons.  Some of thse reasons are that ISP’s want to use DSP are in order to slow down certain types of traffic such as torrents or video files.  ISP’s might also want to block VoIP traffic unless their customers pay a premium for access to those ports.
